The highlight of MEXA MOSCOW 2010 was the grand finale of the designer Contest "Stars of the Kremlin - FUR". The competition addressed to students from Russian and CIS State universities was jointly organised by Ost-West-Partner GmbH, the organiser of MEXA MOSCOW and the Moscow State University of Design and Technology. It was the target of the contest to offer a premium platform for young talented designers and to build the basis for the future of the fur industry.

In 2010, the 14 finalists from entire Russia and CIS States had for the first time the opportunity of presenting their creations before an international jury.

The Jury:

• Irina Krutikova, Russian designe, Chairman
• Michael Holm, Kopenhagen Fur, the principal sponsor of the contest
• Bente Andersen, Danish designer
• Katharina Papageorgiou, CEO of Centropel Group
• Elena Jessin, head of the project design and technical laboratory of the Fur Research Institute

• Alewtina Martynova, general director of the scientific-technical centre for Design and Technology

The Winners:

• Grand Prize: Alena Zimbal, a 19-year old student from Kiev. With her "Don't Stop" collection, she convinced both the audience as well as the jury. Michael Holm awarded her the prize, a one-week workshop in the Kopenhagen Fur Studios, and expressed his enthusiasm for the great talent of the young student from the National Kiev University for Technology and Design.

• Second prize: Linara Galijeva and Almira Minjaseva, Collection "Amazonas". The students of the Kazan Technical College for Textile industry can look forward to a one-week traineeship at Centropel in Greece.
• Third prize: Elena Gladkov won a design software by Eleandr CAD
• Special prizes:
  • Elena Gladkova (special prize by Mexovoje Buro, student of the Moscow State University for Design and Technology)
  • Anna Selenko and Anastasija Burmistrovoj (special price by the company Melita; student of the Moscow State University for Design and Technology)
